Yes I am alive and I know I have been a horrible blogger. I had no idea what going to school at 28 would be like, but I have learned.... It's not at ALL like 18! I look back and have absolutely no clue how I lived and worked the way I did back then. I spent most of my 18th summer with 2-3 hours of sleep a night! And no that is not because I was out living the "wild" life... well, I guess I spent alot of that time in a place we lovingly called the batcave and bats are... wild... so whatever ! Maybe they were wild times... anyway I digress. It's intriguing to look back to where I was 10 years and where I am now simply in environment (physical and spiritual). They are so 180 degrees different. Yet if I wouldn't have spent that crazy year in Texas I would not be in unique New York today! The other night was a reminder to me as well of the journey that I have been on these last 10 years , and where I have come from. I went to dinner with some friends to celebrate my friend Mitch Stout's Birthday, and all of us sitting around the table had the common bond of Teen Mania/ORU, and we have all branched out and followed the dreams and goals that God planted or grew in us at those places. It meant a lot more to me in that respect because I live day to day with very little Jesus around me... I have been excited to be a "light in the dark", but have always lived in a church bubble, and this adventure is challenging me in so many ways.. of course in my acting, but so much in my faith and how I live my life to the glory of God. I am learing new things about me and my relationship with God all the time and well... it's hard sometimes but the journey of faith... I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Thanks in the City
This year I decided that I was going to experience a NYC Thanksgiving.
My holiday began last night on my walk up Columbus Avenue after class. The temp had dropped quite drastically since I had left that morning so I, being a tad underdressed was hurrying home until I happened upon a sight that I couldn't pass up!
79th and 81st streets were closed for the evening to accomodate the enormous task of inflating the balloons and it's a huge attraction with kids running everywhere and media swarming around getting B-roll and interviews all over the place.
I ran home to get my camera and when I returned to 81st street the balloons had taken shape.

...so this morning, to fulfill my NYC Thanksgiving, I was standing at 71st and Central Park West at 6AM! All bundled up and ready for the 3 hour wait. A memory not soon forgotten.(partially because I am still drying out!)
I stuck it out, and the parade was so fun, but an hour in the downpour began, the camera was put away,...and after only15 minutes of praying the rain would stop...I, completly waterlogged and FREEZING acknowledged wisdom. (was I deaf at 6AM?)
I went home, dried off, watched the rest of the parade, had some turkey, and watched my Cowboys beat the Buccs!
Overall I would say it was a fantastic day and a successful NYC Thanksgiving :)

Emmitt Smith, the greatest running back ever... and my all-time favorite... is now the reigning "Dancing With the Stars" champion. There was never a doubt in my mind he'd come out on top! I learned how to play football watching him so hopefully his good dancing will help me with my Jazz class now too :)

You're not in Kansas anymore!
... and the simplicity of removing old funiture from one's apartment is long gone! My friend Mitch and I discoverd this a couple weeks ago as we sat looking at the skankiest sofabed ever!
Since there was no way in hell
Mitch or I would ever sit on "skanky couch"
I couldn't resist my inner child!
We succombed to defeat almost immediatly after getting to the door and decided demolition was the only option!
What we found inside.........
No words...
An organized demolition and four trips up the block and "skanky" was finally out and in its proper place!
Another crazy memory :)

My Marine Corps Marathon Heros!
Today two of my close friends Becky and Tina ran the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC! 26.2 miles around our National Monuments!
I really wanted to be there to cheer them on...so this morning as I logged on to find out any details possible I was elated to learn that I could track their every step along the way.
It was amazing! They finished in 5 Hours and 25 Minutes! I am so proud of both of them and can't wait to hear all about their experience. They have been an example to me of the rewards of dedication and perserverance! Thank you both.. so when is the next marathon? NYC next year?

Where to Begin???
Ok.. I'd like to say that life has slown (is that a word) down a bit and that I have all the time in the world to get this blog up and running.. but it's the baby steps isn't it? Well anyway, I am finally getting settled into life as a New Yorker, and what an amazing life it is. School is amazing. It is all I could have hoped for and more! I am living my dream! AHHHHHHH (said like the Annie Banks in Father of the Bride, when she tells her father that she is getting married).
Ok... pardon me as I vent for a minute... I am currently in a computer lab writing this and God Bless them, but the Musical Theatre majors who feel the need to let us in on their personal rehersal while in the computer lab.. not just one.. but 3 people are singing different songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok... whew.. I feel much better now. Well... I have some pictures to post when I can get them off my phone and I will work on that this weekend. That's all folks... and Prissi's blog is officially underway!
